Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 

 

The Business Transformation Manager (BTM) / Business Architect acts in a collaborative role to guide the executives and staff through transformation initiatives.  The BTM will work side-by-side with department leaders and functional leaders at all levels within the organization to establish near-term and long-term business and systems investment priorities and metrics. The selected candidate will play a prominent role in supporting enterprise portfolio management by ensuring the portfolio of projects and initiatives are strategically aligned with the organizations desired business outcomes. 

 

The BTM will specifically perform the following roles: 

  • Strategically guide the design and realization of business and operating models to align the business capabilities, the data, and the IT systems.  
  • Work with business and IT executives to help describe and understand their business and operating models by making the business model clear and explicit. 
  • Identify and guide people, processes and technology requirements to operationalize the operating models. 
  • Support organizational change and investments in response to disruptive forces and toward achieving targeted business outcomes. 
  • Create business architecture deliverables that clarify strategic intentions, identify business outcomes, explore implications, impacts and risks. 
  • Help strategy and business leaders understand, apply, and operationalize existing, new, and emerging technologies to transform and optimize business and operating models. 
  • Work with department and functional leaders to develop and execute transformation initiatives from proposal to delivery.   
  • Collaborate with the Enterprise Capabilities Board (ECB) and advise on solution options, costs versus benefits, issues, risks and proactive reporting of portfolio status. 
  • Continuous evaluation of the overall health of the portfolio of projects and initiatives through proactive evaluation of capacity and resource allocation, risks, budgeting and dependencies to maximize realized value and accomplish key business outcomes.

Education and Skills (Required):

  • The successful candidate will have the following characteristics: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, information systems or related discipline. 
  • At least 3-5 years of strategy formulation and/or translation, business analysis/analytics, business architecture and/or project management experience. 
  • Experience in development and tracking of KPI’s  for transformation to facilitate value management. 
  • Experience facilitating and leading cross-functional workshops and planning sessions. 
  • Knowledge of business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools. 
  • Able to communicate, influence and persuade — both business and IT leaders, as well as peers. Uses the language of business leaders. 
  • Motivated by long-term results and able to provide examples achieving targeted business outcomes. 
  • Highly innovative with aptitude for foresight, and design and systems thinking.  
  • Experience in enabling and leading change. 
  • Strong presentation skills, including ability to create visualizations and experience presenting to all levels of the organization.

Desired Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree preferred 
  • Six Sigma or Lean experience or certification 
  • Proficiency in business process modeling and design 
  • Change management experience and/or certification 
  • Project management certification 
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting, valuation and metrics development  
  • Strong anticipatory, statistical and information analysis skills  
  • SAP experience 

 

Must be a U.S. Citizen 

 

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
