Job Description

 

This 6-A internship is to develop software and algorithms for detection and acquisition of a laser using a new focal plane array. Using FPAs as acquisition sensors in space-based projects is relatively new and there are impacts with thermal control, acquisition sensitivity, and calibration. This project will include development and analysis of thermal mitigation techniques, and novel background and detection algorithms to maximize acquisition detection of low power beams. Impacts to current tracking algorithms also will be investigated and analyzed.

 

The successful candidate will be pursuing a graduate degree at MIT in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science or comparable major.

Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
