Job Summary

The Human Resources department seeks a Communications Coordinator to support implementation of the department’s communication strategy. Primary responsibilities include the development and deployment of high-quality communications content supporting a variety of department initiatives that increase employee awareness, understanding and engagement.

•Draft, edit, schedule, post and maintain content on HR owned communications channels – including internal/external webpages, print materials, and social media
•Review and edit communications to ensure quality and alignment with department’s mission and goals
•Collaborate with functional area subject matter experts to produce monthly newsletter and coordinate timely release
•Assist with development and maintenance of comprehensive communications content calendar
•Contribute to enhancing the Laboratory’s external brand as preferred employer
•Assist with collection and reporting of communication channel metrics
•Develop cross-functional relationships and provide general communication support to HR department members as needed



•Bachelor’s degree preferred, 3+ years of related experience in communications, marketing, journalism or public relations
•Demonstrated excellent written, visual and oral communication skills
•Must be able to convey information effectively and in an inclusive, accessible and clear way
•Must be highly organized, able to multitask and handle several projects simultaneously
•Excellent time management and organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
•Attention to detail and accuracy is required
•Proficiency using Microsoft Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and social media (e.g. LinkedIn, Glassdoor)
•Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
