The Advanced Imager Technology Group develops imaging platforms that enable impactful national security capabilities and scientific discovery. From fundamental device research to developing camera technology for fielded systems, our group covers the full technology development spectrum from concept to prototype. Research areas include novel imager and detector design with in-house silicon and compound semiconductor fabrication facilities, leading-edge integrated circuit design, and advanced packaging and 3D integration capabilities. Examples of our technology include large-format focal planes, high-speed imagers, time-of-arrival detectors (LADAR receivers), and low-light-level imagers. The group's efforts span the range of device and materials development, integrated circuit design and fabrication, custom packaging, detector hybridization, and the development of control and readout electronics for system-level demonstrations.
Job Description
The Advanced Imager Technology Group is looking for an Embedded Systems Developer to join our novel camera team. We are looking for someone to work on next generation camera systems built around state-of-the-art focal plane arrays. A successful candidate will have experience with both FPGAs and embedded processors (C++ and Verilog preferred). Candidates should also be comfortable in a lab and proficient with standard lab equipment like oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, and analyzers for debugging purposes.
A successful candidate would possess the ability to work independently, determine root cause for common issues, and generate new embedded compute architectures and firmware code.
Additionally, a successful candidate would have experience and proficiency using the following tools and languages:
- Xilinx Toolsets: Vivado, Vitis
- ModelSim
- Scientific analysis tools like Python or MATLAB
- Hardware demonstration platforms like Xilinx MPSoC, SoM, or UltraScale platforms
- Proficient in C/C++, Python, Verilog, HDL
- Proficient in Linux based development environment.
