The Rapid Prototyping Group focuses on partnering with groups across the Laboratory to execute rapid prototyping efforts. Position Description
The Rapid Prototyping Group focuses on partnering with others across the Laboratory to develop new advanced technology capabilities and execute quick-turn hardware demonstrations. The Group works on a diverse portfolio of programs, delivering new advanced technology capabilities in timelines typically under a year. This group leads and coordinates various activities: aero/optical/mechanical system design and fabrication, electronics system design and fabrication, system engineering, integration into aircraft and other platforms, and laboratory and field testing. Projects are conducted in a team environment, utilizing resources from both the Engineering Division and Mission Division Groups to successfully execute fast-paced development and demonstration efforts.
Specifically, the Group is seeking Associate Staff candidates with experience in the design, analysis, test and installation of various systems, including novel sensors, custom packaging of electronics, and system integrations onto a multitude of crewed and uncrewed platforms. The candidate will need to be an excellent communicator, developing system requirements with partners and sponsors, lead multidisciplinary teams on fast-paced programs, and manage the technical scope and deliverables. Candidate must be comfortable working in a highly-dynamic environment and solving under-constrained engineering problems on rapid timelines ranging from 3 weeks to 9 months.
Requirements
Education Requirement - BS with 5-8 years of experience working in a fast-paced, multi-program engineering development environment.
Recent Graduate Hiring Range: $116,400 - $140,000
Experienced Hiring Range: $116,400 - $182,200
