Job Description

The Facilities Systems Programmer supports mission-critical utility metering and building automation systems across secure laboratory facilities at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Reporting to the Operations Center Manager, this role ensures reliable utility data acquisition, system integration, and operational continuity for infrastructure supporting advanced research programs.

This is a technical position requiring deep experience in electrical, HVAC, and control systems within complex or high-reliability environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support all capital and infrastructure projects involving electrical, water, and hydronic metering systems.
  • Review design drawings and specifications; participate in construction meetings and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure proper installation, configuration, and functionality of field metering devices.
  • Support and maintain Schneider PME and OSI PI integrations.
  • Maintain metering databases and produce clear O&M documentation.
  • Assist in operation and troubleshooting of Continuum and EcoStruxure BMS platforms.
  • Interpret ladder logic, electrical schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Support operations personnel during troubleshooting, shutdowns, and critical system events.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to maintain system reliability.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience with mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or utility systems in commercial, laboratory, industrial, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with Continuum and EcoStruxure BMS platforms.
  • Experience with power monitoring systems (e.g., PME) and data integration platforms (e.g., OSI PI).
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, psychometrics, and IP-based control networks.
  • Ability to read and interpret ladder logic and technical schematics.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Facilities Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).

Security & Work Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance required.
  • Mixed on-site and remote work environment.
  • Availability for after-hours shutdown and project support as needed.

 

Hiring Range: $104,300 - $138,200
Job Grade: ADM-IC4
