The Advanced Electro-Optical Systems Group specializes in the rapid design and prototyping of innovative electro-optic systems that address challenges facing the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, NASA, and other U.S. government entities. The group maintains broad expertise in satellite systems, electro-optical and infrared sensors, charge-coupled devices, electronics, image processing, and low–size/weight/power optical communications systems. The vertically-integrated group leverages this core expertise to architect, design, prototype, and deploy hardware and software systems in support of mission needs.
Job Description
This is a general IT support position for Group 99. Duties will include installing, updating, maintaining and troubleshooting all necessary software products required to operate PC’s, laptops, and servers. Operating systems supported include Windows 11, MacOS, Linux and ESXi. Common applications include Microsoft Office, Acrobat, and Matlab. In addition to OS and software support, the candidate will have the opportunity to work with hardware to include Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices, printers, and serial devices. If time permits, the candidate may be asked to support tasks related to the design, implementation and test of IT systems that meet real-world DoD needs operationally.
The candidate must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision. Daily checkins in the form of quick stand up meetings will be required.
Requirements
- Enrolled in an accredited college co-op program
- At least one year of direct IT experience in a professional or home environment
- Knowledgeable in the use of various operating systems (Windows 11, MacOS and distributions Linux) as well as application software products (Microsoft Office, etc.)
- Should have basic understanding of networking (DHCP, Static IPs, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
Previous completion of at least one year of schooling with an Information Technology or Computer Science background.
Compensation
Compensation for 2025 (will be reviewed for 2026)
- Technical Co-Op: $24.50 – $31.00 per hour (based on year in school)
- Administrative Co-Op: $21.50 – $25.00 per hour (based on year in school)
Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
