The Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) Systems Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory develops, adapts, and deploys advanced technologies to address today’s most significant disaster and humanitarian challenges. We extend emerging technical capabilities to underserved HA/DR mission areas and populations; example problem areas include remote sensing and situational awareness in post-disaster environments, improving community resilience and disaster preparedness, climate change adaptation and mitigation, counter human trafficking, new techniques for search and rescue, community development and resilience, and humanitarian aid security and delivery.

Job Description


Our Group is actively seeking students currently pursing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees in engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or related disciplines across the technology spectrum to work alongside Lincoln Laboratory staff on interdisciplinary teams in the research, design, development, and test and evaluation of these new technologies. Skills and interest in systems analysis and prototyping, novel data science and analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and software development are highly encouraged.


Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
