Group 86--Summer Research Program Intern--RF Systems

Date: Mar 5, 2023

Location: Lexington, MA, US

Company: MIT Lincoln Laboratory

The RF Technology Group develops and demonstrates innovative radio-frequency (RF) technologies and integrated subsystems as solutions to emerging national security needs in radar, electronic warfare, signals intelligence (SIGINT), and special communications. To execute its RF research and development mission, the group develops and tests novel RF solutions at the device and semiconductor level up through the full RF subsystem level, with an emphasis on highly integrated, small-form-factor RF subsystems. The group collaboratively interacts with research groups across the Laboratory to take projects from initial concept stage, through simulation and analysis, to design and prototyping, and finally to field demonstration.

Group 86 - Summer Research Program Intern

The RF Technology Group has exciting opportunities to work on a wide array of projects associated with cutting-edge RF systems as part of the 2023 Summer Research Program. Depending on a candidate’s background and interests, there are opportunities in all aspects of RF system design. This can include next generation RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave circuits and antennas as well as semiconductor device technologies, digital (FPGA-based) circuits, algorithm, firmware and software development.

These positions include opportunities to learn about the development of RF systems, to work with teams of electrical and mechanical engineers, and to design and test related hardware, software, and support equipment.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field

Nice-to-haves:

  • Hands-on experience with hardware or software
  • An interest in analog and digital circuits, electromagnetics, or RF signal processing

Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
