Job Description
The candidate should be highly motivated and proactive, and will work closely with a small dynamic team, solving challenging problems with direct benefit to the US Government. The candidate should be motivated to learn and understand the systems being modeled/tested, in addition to performing data analysis and visualization.
Requirements:
- Minimum Master of Science in Electrical or other Engineering discipline, Physics, Mathematics, or similar discipline, with experience analyzing, modeling, interpreting, and visualizing data
- Background in one or more of the following: communications, laser physics/engineering, atmospheric physics, orbital mechanics, stochastic processes, and/or control systems
- Experience with MATLAB, or a willingness to learn MATLAB and experience with similar tools
- Experience with modern software engineering tools, including code repositories, version control, and issue tracking, with a preference for Atlassian tools
- Programming/scripting experience with numerical simulation/analysis applications using languages such as Python
- Preference for applicants with experience in analysis of optical beam propagation through atmospheric turbulence, plasma, or through vehicular boundary layers, or information theory
- The applicant will be expected to document results in memos and brief them in presentations; therefore strong written and verbal communications skills are required.
