The Human Resources Department is customer focused in the design and delivery of services to employees, managers, and candidates. Services include the oversight of MIT Lincoln Laboratory's recruiting programs, including college recruiting, summer undergraduate and graduate programs, and student co-op programs. Additionally, the department supports the Laboratory's diversity and inclusion efforts, manages training and career development, and administers compensation and performance management systems. The department also provides benefits counseling and administration, supports employee and labor relations programs, and manages Human Resources Information System data and applications.
This position will be hybrid (combination of onsite and remote work).
Job Summary
We’re looking for a Lead HR Business Partner to drive people and business initiatives across the Laboratory. You will work closely with managers and employees to provide hands-on and strategic input, insight, and advice with respect to employee relations, performance management, coaching, compensation, conflict management, organizational development, training and more. This position will report to the Manager, Talent Acquisition and HR Operations.
•Lead core HR processes such as performance management process, engagement survey roll out, compensation initiatives, and promotions process.
•Lead special projects, studies, analysis efforts, will also seek opportunities to identify areas for process improvement and service delivery efficiencies.
•Partner with senior leaders to develop and implement effective HR policies and practices to support the strategic growth of the business
•Provide HR expertise in the areas of compensation, feedback, performance management, employee relations, development and coaching, and organizational development
•Analyze and interpret various types of employee reports (eg, compensation, job levels, and attrition) to guide decision-making and provide proactive solutions
•Partner with HRBP colleagues and Centers of Excellence colleagues to work on value-added programs in areas of talent acquisition, training, development, career mobility and job performance
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in HR and prior experience leading teams; or a master’s and a minimum of 6 years of experience or equivalent.
•Superb communication skills, including effective facilitation, listening and writing
•Demonstrated analytical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills
•Effective coaching and facilitation skills and ability to influence colleagues at all levels of the organization
•Knowledge of HR programs and practices, including applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations
