The Engineering Division works in partnership with all the other Laboratory technical divisions to design and build advanced technology systems of national importance.   We embrace the use of digital technology to aid in our work and are undergoing a Digital Engineering transformation.  The Digital Engineering Center has been established to provide a centralized approach to grow capability and adoption of digital engineering practices n prototype development.  We are looking for a talented administrator for Product Data Management (PDM) and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) to join our team.

 

Position Description

 

MIT LL is currently seeking a motivated person to help spearhead the training and organizational transformation centered on the adoption of Aras Innovator PLM.  The successful candidate will be responsible for collaborating with Engineers, Designers, and Fabrication Professionals to ensure the effective adoption of new tools and process. This role will also interface with internal and external development teams to communicate user concerns, suggest new functionality, and develop and execute effective training.  The ideal applicant has worked previously in an engineering or research driven environment and has experience with PDM and PLM.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develops and delivers training on applications capabilities to increase user acceptance. 

  • Collaborates and engages with users, partners and other stakeholders to define requirements and translate user needs 

  • Maintains a detailed knowledge of support required by users for primary functional areas and provides support for other functional business areas.   

  • Stays abreast of and shares system best practices and feature enhancements to promote continuous improvement 

  • Ensures training requirements are met by monitoring available metrics and collecting feedback. 

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent relevant work experience 

  • 7 years experience in creating technical engineering training materials 

  • Skills in requirements collection and analysis to identify needs  

  • Excellent business, functional, technical acumen 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment working with a variety of staff and experience levels 

  • Ability to perform variety of complicated tasks and may direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following disciplines is a plus: Communications, Engineering Management, Business Administration, Engineering related field 
  • 5 years experience in engineering, engineering design, business systems analysis, software development, or other technical field 
  • Experience with SAP, PLM, and other engineering software suites – experience with Aras Innovator a plus  
  • Ability to work independently toward delivery of milestones as well as collaborate in team efforts 
  • Experience in software implementation and operational support
