The Security Services Department’s overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory’s mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. To accomplish this mission, this department formulates and implements policies, plans, and actions designed to protect facilities against threats of vandalism, accidental destruction, and sabotage; and safeguards personnel, classified and unclassified information systems, personal identifiable information, property, and other assets from exploitation and recruitment by foreign intelligence agencies.

What will you do?


What will you do? Join a team of security professionals driven to solve complex security problems in support of the Laboratory’s Personnel Security Services Center (PSSC), ensuring the Laboratory workforce is appropriately vetted and meets the Government’s standard as security clearance holders.
* Commercial Background Investigations: Support the Personnel Security Assurance Program by assisting with the processing of Commercial Background Investigations
* Security Clearance Processing: Provide security clearance assistance to a complete range of Laboratory and external personnel, vendors, and senior management
* Ensure Compliance: Monitor and execute on actionable items relating to mandated Government reporting
* Record Keeping: Track and maintain personnel security records and detailed program metrics
* Enable the Mission: Process special access briefings, debriefings, biometrics recording, and access requests
* Security Triage: Provide guidance regarding DoD security clearances and DD-254 contract specifications
* Efficiency Improvements: Develop office process change and enhancement efforts for efficiencies, as well as implementation of, and acclimation to, new Government requirements

What you need/Requirements:

To work with MITLL, all employees must meet certain basic requirements.
* General experience: 1-2 years of work experience (including military), or college education (or a combination)
* Regulatory compliance experience: The ability to read, understand and apply government regulation, policies and procedure (DoD SAP/SCI Community and Intelligence Community directives and manuals, NISPOM 32 CFR Part 117, applicable ICDs, etc.).
* A minimum of a current in-scope Secret security clearance
* The ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
* Must be a U.S. Citizen
* Successfully pass a background check
* Valid COVID-19 vaccination (to include a booster shot)
