The Advanced Electro-Optical Systems Group specializes in the rapid design and prototyping of innovative electro-optic systems that support the Department of Defense, NASA, and other U.S. government organizations. The group has deep expertise in satellite systems, electro-optical and infrared sensors, electronics, image processing, and low-SWaP (size, weight, and power) optical communications. By combining hardware and software development under one roof, the group rapidly architects, prototypes, and deploys end-to-end systems tailored to mission needs. We work closely with end users to transform enabling concepts into operational capabilities on accelerated timelines.
Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Technician with an electrical background. The candidate will work in an electronics laboratory supporting multiple programs in the group for fabrication needs. Duties include, but not limited to, electronic assembly, circuits, and test equipment that may include electro-optical and mechanical assemblies. Experience working with soldering, cable making, drilling and chassis fabrication are valued. SolidWorks experience is a plus.
Requirements
- Graduation from a two-year technical school or its equivalent and a minimum of five years of experience.
- Candidate should be well organized, detail oriented, and able to work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Operates highly technical experimental apparatus such as optical systems, prototype imagers, and laser systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Candidate will be a motivated self-starter with a solid work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and use good “hands-on” skills.
Hiring Range: $44.63-$48.65
