This opportunity is open to graduate-level candidates, including those in the process of earning a Ph.D. degree in a technical field such as Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
The specific assignment will involve developing and evaluating techniques for improving the robustness and resilience of AI models, including techniques for detecting and handling inputs to deep learning models that fall outside the training set distribution. Candidates should have exposure to a variety of machine learning techniques. Specific coursework or experience with computer vision, natural language processing, or graph algorithms is desired, as is knowledge of Python programming and experience with the PyTorch deep learning library. Candidate will be mentored by a staff member and placed in a team to conduct research and development in the above and other related areas. Candidate will participate fully in our group’s activities, which include many educational opportunities.
Requirements

The specific assignment could include research on deep learning architectures, adversarial learning, reinforcement learning, graph analytics, natural language processing or computer vision. Candidates should have exposure to a variety of techniques, including machine learning methods. Specific coursework or experience with computer vision, natural language processing, deep learning or graph algorithms is desired, as is knowledge of Matlab or Python programming and familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch and/or OpenAI Gym libraries. Candidate will be mentored by a staff member and placed in a team to conduct research and development in one of the above and other related areas. Candidate will participate fully in our group’s activities, which include many educational opportunities.
