Position Description
The Contracting Services Department is seeking a Subcontracts Administrator to work within the Commercial Acquisition Team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three (3) years of experience in Commercial Acquisition or Supply Chain; DoW subcontract award / management experience preferred. Candidate should demonstrate working knowledge of the FAR/DFARS, sourcing, market research, price analysis, negotiation, awarding and documenting purchases for materials and services. Bid/proposal activities include the use of reverse auctions to maximize competition. The selected candidate will be expected to manage a variety of commercial commodities and services. Candidate will execute purchase orders and modifications to orders as well as provide professional & courteous customer service to clients via phone and email interaction. Candidate will review their requirements to ensure orders are being placed and prioritized in a timely manner. This position supports internal clients by providing complete, accurate and current information on products and services, pricing and availability. Primary responsibilities include soliciting and analyzing quotations; negotiating terms and conditions of purchases; working with customers and vendors to solve problems with shipments, defective items and expediting orders; along with preparing all correspondence and documentation necessary to secure government consent and maintain compliance with Prime Contract requirements. Additional project work may be assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant subcontracting experience.
- Prior experience in DoW and/or technology development environment preferred
- Experience with FAR and DFARS flowdown requirements
- Experience negotiating terms and conditions and licensing agreements
- Professional certification in Purchasing or Government Contracting is preferred
- Experience in the acquisition of a wide variety of commercial items and services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint,
- Experience with SAP/SRM preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
Hiring Range: $78,500-$104,000
