The Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HA/DR) Systems Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory develops, adapts, and deploys advanced technologies to address today’s most significant disaster and humanitarian challenges.  We extend emerging technical capabilities to underserved HA/DR mission areas and populations; example problem areas include remote sensing and situational awareness in post-disaster environments, improving community resilience and disaster preparedness, counter human trafficking, new techniques for search and rescue, alternative methods for clean cooking, water delivery, and energy generation, and humanitarian aid security and delivery.


Our Group is actively seeking students currently pursing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees in science, engineering, and/or applied mathematics disciplines to work alongside Lincoln Laboratory staff on interdisciplinary teams in the research, design, development, and test and evaluation of these new technologies.
